Ex-Trump Advisor Wants to See Trump Pardon Hunter Biden

Former Trump adviser David Urban said he hopes the former President will pardon Hunter Biden if re-elected in November. Urban suggested that such a move would be “magnanimous” and turn the tables on the Democrats. The pardon should be issued on condition that the President’s son commit to a program of sobriety, he added.

A Delaware jury convicted Hunter Biden on charges related to a gun purchase in 2018 when he regularly used crack cocaine but claimed he was sober on a federal document. Special Counsel David Weiss investigated the offense and issued charges of illegal weapon possession and lying on a federal document. Weiss said the charges were not an indictment on addiction but illegal behavior and “dangerous conduct.”

President Biden said he accepts the jury’s verdict and has no intention of issuing a pardon but emphasized his love for his son, saying he is proud of the man he has become. “I am the president, but I am also a dad,” he said. Hunter Biden’s attorney, Abbe Lowell, described his disappointment at the jury’s decision and promised to pursue all legal avenues available to ensure the best sentencing outcome for his client.

Donald Trump’s press secretary Karoline Leavitt called Hunter Biden’s trial a “distraction,” which provides cover for the “real crimes” of the Biden family, who she said made millions of dollars from foreign countries. She added that “Biden Crime Family” corruption would end on November 5.

Some Republicans similarly described the trial as a sham. Congresswoman Nancy Pace of South Carolina said the Biden administration had drawn a “veil of fairness” over the justice system in a cynical bid to persuade voters that it is impartial.

Hunter Biden faces a potential prison term of up to 25 years, but legal experts suggest such a hefty punishment is unlikely. He may also be fined up to $750,000. United States Sentencing Commission guidelines hint that a prison term will likely range from 15 to 21 months.
