Matthew McConaughey Delighted After Leaving Hollywood

The Oscar-winning actor Matthew McConaughey has revealed that a family emergency forced him to relocate from California to Texas in 2014.

After uprooting their family from Malibu to Texas in 2014, the happy couple has been enjoying a life of tranquility ever since. Their three children from a previous marriage are Levi, Vida, and Livingston.

When McConaughey proposed moving to California, Alves—a native Brazilian—shared her excitement about finally settling down with her small family.

Because of a family situation, they had to go to Austin to be with the actor’s mom, Kay McConaughey. Sitting in the passenger seat beside her husband, Alves remembers being stopped at a red light after seeing Kay. Sitting in the driver’s seat, McConaughey had a vibrant and composed attitude. The Texas vibe agreed with him.

Moving from Los Angeles to Austin was easier for McConaughey because of his family’s history in Uvalde, Texas. He said everyone should return to their birthplace, which reestablishes a spiritual connection with their roots. The Texan is keen on the hypothesis that people feel more connected to their original nature when they live closer to their place of creation.

McConaughey’s mother is currently staying with them.

The “Mud” actor has become an icon of his home state of Texas. He teaches a film class at his alma mater, the University of Texas in Austin, and is a football fan and a devout team supporter.

He contemplated a 2021 run for governor and worked with country music icon George Strait on a public service announcement (PSA) against littering. After the 2022 shooting at Uvalde Elementary School, he visited the White House with a state delegation.

In 2022, 100,000 people left California for Texas, while about 40,000 went the other way. Despite their ideological differences, a new poll found that Texans and Californians, the two most significant states in the US, have more in common than they have differences.
