Man Arrested After Running Onto Los Angeles Airport Tarmac

After sprinting across the Los Angeles airport runway towards an aircraft, a bare-chested passenger was apprehended by law enforcement.

The man “became irate” and escaped from Terminal 4 during a mental health crisis; the event happened at around 6 in the morning on Saturday.

Los Angeles Airport Police Department Captain Karla Rodriguez said that he subsequently bolted onto the airport’s airfield.

According to the airport police, they were alerted, and the use of force was necessary to apprehend the individual.

In cell phone footage captured by a civilian, the man, who the authorities have not identified, was seen running shirtless near an American Airlines plane with a cop following close behind.

On the airport’s tarmac, the cop follows the man as he approaches a JetBlue plane and tackles him.

A mental health examination was ordered after the guy was transported to a local hospital for evaluation. In addition to other charges, he may face arrest for violence against a police officer, according to Rodriguez.

An identical event happened in February at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) when a guy began sprinting toward a runway after escaping through a security door at the Tom Bradley International Terminal. The subject refused to comply with cops’ attempts to apprehend him, forcing them to resort to “less-than-lethal force” in order to apprehend him successfully.

The perpetrator of the incident in February was also sent to the hospital after sustaining minor injuries.

A violent road rage altercation at Los Angeles International Airport left an innocent elderly woman knocked out less than one month ago.

Around 9:30 in the morning on May 31, two men—one of whom has not been named by the police—chased each other into a drop-off lane after getting into an altercation outside the airport. The fighting raged and worked its way toward an unnamed older woman as she checked her bags on the curb.

Suddenly, the two males push her down, sending her tumbling to the ground and losing consciousness.

The woman was taken to the hospital in a severe condition by paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department.

As to the Los Angeles Police Department, the uninvolved spectator has since been discharged from the medical facility.
