Vice President Kamala Harris is becoming more unhinged by the day. After advancing the Russian election interference conspiracy theory, and various other fake claims about former President Trump, she’s now pushing the famous “suckers and losers” hoax.
Has she no shame?
At a glance:
- Claim: Kamala Harris stated that former President Donald Trump called military members “suckers” and “losers.”
- Verdict: False. The claim originates from a 2020 article in The Atlantic but has been widely disputed and not corroborated by other sources.
Vice President Kamala Harris, during an interview, repeated the claim that former President Donald Trump referred to military service members as “suckers” and “losers.” This accusation stems from a The Atlantic article published in 2020, which cited anonymous sources. However, the story has been consistently denied by Trump and numerous former Trump administration officials, including those critical of him, such as John Bolton.

Despite efforts to validate the claim, no other media outlets have corroborated The Atlantic’s story, and key individuals present at the time, like Bolton, refuted the allegations. Even Fox News’ Jennifer Griffin, who confirmed some details of the Atlantic article, could not verify the “suckers” and “losers” statements.
Nonetheless, prominent Democrats, including Harris, have continued to repeat the claim, despite its debunking.
And if you want to know the official line on this hoax, take a look at what the Republican National Committee has to say about it:
“It wasn’t true in 2020 and it’s still not true now — but no disgusting lies are beneath Biden.
Here’s the reality: A White House email from a U.S. Marine Corps official proves a “bad weather call” was the reason for President Trump’s canceled visit to Aisne-Marne American cemetery in 2018; further evidence refuting Biden’s claim includes U.S. Navy records obtained via a Freedom of Information Act request — and even John Bolton’s book.”
More than that, a huge number of Trump admin officials have come forward and insisted that Trump never made the statement – including Trump hater John Bolton.
“I didn’t hear either of those comments or anything even resembling them. I was there at the point in time that morning when it was decided that he would not go Aisne-Marne cemetery. He decided not to do it because of John Kelly’s recommendation. It was entirely a weather-related decision, and I thought the proper thing to do,” Bolton said.
Facts mean nothing to Democrats.
