Eric Trump is still reeling from the horrific attempt on his dad’s life and is looking for answers.
Eric Trump told the media that the head of the Secret Service has to be asked some very serious questions because this cannot happen again. He didn’t know whether it was a failure on the part of local authorities or just an oversight. Our nation is capable of doing better than this, and they must investigate.
The senior official at the Trump Organization wondered how gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks (20) managed to get close to former President Trump. Eric said he learned about the shooting as he sat on the sofa with his family. He said it was unbelievable that someone was able to get inside 130 yards of a President armed with a rifle.
U.S. Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle was heavily criticized on Tuesday after stating to ABC News that the shooter’s position was not manned by law enforcement due to a hazardous sloping roof.
However, the gunman was able to make use of it.
Despite his condemnation of the assassination attempt, Cheatle has remained in his position.
According to Eric Trump, a skilled marksman, Crooks might have murdered his father since he was in direct sight.
Trump said he felt terrible for those who were on that stage. Those Secret Service agents were also put at risk.
Trump, who will deliver a speech at the Republican National Convention before his father on July 18th, has said that he is more angry about the event’s lack of perimeter protection in Pennsylvania than about the Secret Service agents who are standing guard around the former president.
He said those agents are people he knows well. They would have risked everything to save him, and nothing that transpired on the periphery was their responsibility.
According to Trump, agents on the dais are looking for anybody in the surrounding area who may be armed or who is trying to rush the stage. They are not responsible for dealing with faraway dangers.
The Secret Service is under criticism for letting a gunman shoot former President Trump. The House Oversight Committee subpoenaed agency head Kimberly Cheatle, who is under pressure to resign. Cheatle agreed to appear at a July 22 hearing after Rep. James Comer questioned her capacity to head the Secret Service owing to a lack of openness and Congressional cooperation.
