In the United States and the Western World at large, the problem of illegal migration continues to be a persistent issue. As the 2024 presidential elections in America continue to near closer and closer, the issue of migration remains of central focus. On June 27th, the first presidential debate was held between the incumbent president, the 46th commander-in-chief of the United States Joe Biden and Donald Trump, a former president who is now the GOP nominee. The debate, which lasted about an hour and a half, highlighted the growing divisions and tensions in the country. Biden and Trump clashed with each other, and while Trump often appeared like his bombastic egotistical self, Biden struggled immensely and had difficulty answering questions and remaining focused.
Trump was able to really hit Biden hard on many major issues, ranging from inflation, to crime and of course migration. It is currently estimated that over 8 million individuals have entered the nation illegally since Biden’s term began. The New York Post recently reported in an article that the federal migration backlog will surpass 8 million individuals by the end of 2024, a 167% increase over a 5-year period. Trump and many federal Republicans have argued that Biden’s immigration policies have made the nation less safe. Recently, a 12 year old girl was murdered by a migrant in Texas and left dead in a creek. Crime is on the rise in America’s major cities as massive shelters continue to pop up everywhere across the Nation and the borders are flooded daily with undocumented foreigners.
America’s Northern neighbor Canada, long known in recent years for its progressive politics and social policies, took another crazy drastic step that appears to benefit foreigners at the expense of its own citizens. A recent article reports that Canada has been replacing native Canadian citizens who work in the healthcare industry who refuse to become vaccinated for covid-19 with foreign migrant workers.
