Over the last several years, the United States has been unquestionably embroiled in a period of extreme economic, cultural, social, and political strife. Indeed, at nearly every level of governance, in domestic, international, and local terms the country has experienced a general climate of volatility and hardship. Since the 2021 presidential inauguration of Joe Biden and his 2020 general election victory over the incumbent Donald Trump, the country has experienced nearly unprecedented divisions and tension. After Trump won a major upset victory in the 2016 presidential election over Hillary Clinton, the heavily favored Democratic candidate, politics within the country have been turned upside down. In many cases it could be argued that the state of affairs within America are more polarized today than at any other period of time since the occurrence of the American Civil War over 150 years ago. In truth, things are not “all good” in the union.
In many regards, the political situation within the country has deteriorated in large part due to rising sectionalism and factionalism in the nation. Progressives and Conservatives have clashed tenaciously at the verbal and oral levels, promoting two completely opposing agendas for the future of the country. In many ways, it appears as if America has lost its sense of direction and its founding. Many policies, including reckless fiscal spending promoted by Biden and his administration, have worked towards the destruction of the American middle class and resulted in widespread levels of inflation not witnessed in decades. Consumer credit card debt has soared to heights never reached before and most Americans are just not optimistic about the future trajectory of the country.
Bidens most glaring failures have come at the southern border. Since the beginning of his term, it is estimated that over 6 million illegals have entered the country. Illegal migrants have often been hired as cheap labor, hurting Americans and keeping wages low. Many have died while working.
